So it's that time of year again. For those in college it's the end of semester. Which we all know means stress, lack of sleep, freaking out, more stress, more lack of sleep, procrastination, oh and did I mention stress? At this point many of us just want to end the semester and get through our finals without completely going insane . Maybe you need help handling all the stress or maybe you're here because that 12 page paper is not working for you. But whatever the reason here are a few tips of mine to get through those last three weeks of the semester.
The first thing you want to do is relax! Relaxation is the key especially around this time. Take a break from studying or writing those term papers. While yes, it is necessary for you to finish those tasks. It is also important to take time away from those things as well. That time you spend relaxing not only helps your mind get off of the tasks that are stressing you out but, its helps you take a step back and rationalize everything that is going through your mind as well. Go for a walk, take a quick nap , talk to a friend or even just sit back light a soothing candle and go cuddle up with a blanket and a hot mug of hot chocolate . Remember its okay to relax during this stressful time . Your health and happiness should be the most important thing for you .
Besides remembering to relax plan out the next few days or even the next few weeks! Planning things out and making a daily schedule will help you out a great deal if you have a planner great ! If not just set a reminder on your phone or even dare I say use a pen or pencil and write it down in a notepad or sticky note. By making a schedule during this time it will help you plan out every you need to do. From waking up to eating a meal, studying and going to bed. While yes planning everything out from hour to hour may be a little extreme it might just help you get every task you want to get done. If planning things out like that stress you out even more just write the things you would like to get done that day. Do that and don't set a time limit meaning don't feel obligated that you need to get something done by a certain time . Instead write what you would like to get done and take your time if you don't get everything done don't fret just put it on the top of your list for the next day. I promise you it will get done and you will feel like you accomplished something .
Remembering to sleep is another important tip I am going to give you all. While yes it is the end of the semester and you have one million and one tasks to do you need to remember to get a good nights rest. You want to stay sane these next few weeks . Don't think you can't or don't have time to sleep trust me you do and your mind and body will thank you for it. People our age need at least 8 hours of sleep each night. It's easy to get caught up in everything and just go through the motions of doing things without thinking.
I hope these things help you get through the end of the semester! and don't you fret none everything will be alright just relax and take a deep breath you will get through this.
